🦔 Stokenchurch Parish Council is proud to support Hedgehog Awareness Week and help protect one of Britain’s most loved and increasingly vulnerable species. By making small changes in our gardens and green spaces, we can all help create a safer environment for hedgehogs to thrive.
One of the simplest and most effective ways to help is by creating “hedgehog highways” a 13cm hole in fences and garden boundaries allowing hedgehogs to safely roam between gardens in search of food, water and shelter.
We are also encouraging residents to use Hedgehog Street, a brilliant initiative which helps record hedgehog sightings locally and build a better understanding of where hedgehogs are active within our area.
We’re delighted too to be sharing our Hedgehog Care Guide, produced by 21st Century Thame (please see below), packed with practical advice on how residents can support hedgehogs in their own gardens.
👀 And finally… we have two exciting pieces of hedgehog-related news to reveal tomorrow, so keep an eye on our Facebook page and website! 🦔
