A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers for restoring the village War Memorial railings.

We are enormously grateful to Chairman of the Memorial Hall, Seamus Doyle, and his fantastic team of volunteers for giving up their time to transform the railings around the village War Memorial.

We had been sourcing quotes to have the railings stripped and repainted, but many companies wished to remove them and take them away for shot blasting. This was looking increasingly expensive, as well as presenting the rather difficult job of removing and transporting the existing railings.

Thankfully, Seamus and the volunteers at the Memorial Hall stepped in and offered to help free of charge.

And we think you’ll agree, they have done a marvellous job! The railings have been stripped, prepared, painted and beautifully restored. And, because apparently they weren’t busy enough… they’ve even given the bin outside a fresh coat of paint too!
