Vacancy for a Parish Councillor in Stokenchurch

The Parish Council has an available vacancy for a councillor to represent the Stokenchurch Ward.

Role of a councillor:

The role of a councillor is varied and involves representing the needs and interests of residents and groups, contributing to decisions on local services, collaborating with Buckinghamshire Council, and progressing projects for the future of the community.

What you can expect:

Meetings of the Council are held once a month, and acting as a councillor typically requires a commitment of about 10 hours per month.

Eligibility:

To be eligible, prospective councillors must be:

  • A UK or Commonwealth citizen; or be a citizen of the Republic of Ireland: or be a citizen of another Member State of the European Union.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • An elector of the local council; or in the past 12 months to have occupied land or other premises in the area the council serves  (as owner or tenant; or work in the area the council serves as your principal or only place of work; or live within three miles of the council’s boundary).
