The Union Flag is once again flying proudly over Stokenchurch, looking better than ever.
After suffering significant damage during recent storms, the flag was lovingly repaired and restored by Stokenchurch Parish Council. It has now been fitted with a weight to help it withstand the elements.
It was a privilege to have Dan Davis, one of Stokenchurch’s most senior veterans and a long time resident, raise the flag. His service and enduring connection to the village made the occasion very special indeed.
The flagpole itself has also been given a wonderful refresh thanks to Seamus Doyle (Chairman of Stokenchurch Memorial Hall) , who very kindly applied two fresh coats of paint using a very long ladder! Thanks to the efforts and generosity of everyone involved, our Union Flag is once again flying high over our community.
